Can I get exercise on my Electric Bike?

“Let’s start at the very beginning, A very good place to start.”

Sorry, I was in the high school Sound of Music as a kid and can’t get those lyrics out of my head. 🙂

I am excited to let you all in on what I have been working on in my makeshift lab the past couple months for Boogie Bikes. I am super excited to share my journey on this new patented technology with you all.

When we setout to create an electric bike built here in Wisconsin it was new venture for us. We knew we wanted to have a high quality bike with great local support. What did I know about electric bikes? Pretty much nothing, but I love to tinker and I am kid who grew up watching Tim “The Tool Man” Taylor. The idea of putting a large motor on my bicycle sounded sweet. >

So we researched, we traveled and we came up with the best bike parts available. Were we done? Nope, nada, nein, not even close. I am a engineer and their is always better or something we can improve on. The biggest question we get from our fans is “Can I get exercise on my Boogie Bike?”

YES!!! You can get exercise on your electric bike. But how much exercise are you getting? When someone asks how much exercise did you get, you answer “I biked 20 miles this morning”. What does that really mean. My 8 year old daughter can bike 40 miles if it is all downhill with a wind to her back. This is a huge problem for me. I NEED a bike that tells me how much exercise I am getting.

<img decoding=We needed a bike that gave people the ability to exercise at the pace and level they want. You know this works great on a exercise bike at your gym or in your basement. You can set the pace, the bikes will even simulate hills so you can pretend to bike up and down hills. You can even get tv screens on your exercise bike that will put “Nature” on the screen so you can pretend to be outdoors on your bike ride. But what about those of us who actually love the freedom of being outdoors. Why not actually go exercise on your bike outdoors and have the ability to adjust for hills and wind?

So here we are, in the basement of the Boogie Bike corporate offices building that technology and solving the worlds problems one solution at a time. 🙂
